Grants made to the community foundation, inc. To fund the r.e.b. Awards for teaching excellence, which recognizes public school teachers who distinguish themselves by their inspiring classroom performance. The program is based on the belief that a positive educational experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels helps children form positive lifelong habits toward learning and discipline. Through a nomination process, 32 outstanding teachers were selected in 2024 to receive cash grants to support professional development activities.

R.e.b educational impact grant awards - in 2024, the foundation awarded grants (through the community foundation, inc.) to virginia commonwealth university foundation to support a comprehensive mental health pilot program in two richmond area schools that will leverage an existing multi-tiered system of support framework in order to improve mental health outcomes for students. The pilot program will be coordinated by the metropolitan educational research consortium (merc)--a partnership between vcu's school of education and chesterfield, goochland, hanover, henrico, and richmond public schools.
