Guipil Festival of Latino Authors and Book Club - We lead the Gipil Festival of Latino Authors and Book Club to promote culturally rooted storytelling literacy and journaling among Latino youth and families. From April 2023 to spring 2025 we visited 15 Title I public schools in Forsyth County-including Griffith Mineral Springs Watertown Parkland and Morgan Elementary-serving underserved Latino communities. These events integrate arts reading and social-emotional learning meeting a clear need for trauma-informed culturally affirming programs. The book club continues this impact year-round through bilingual discussions that foster identity healing and belonging.

Morning Light Choir - The Morning Light Choir is an intergenerational arts initiative that brings together Latino families to explore faith culture and community through music. The choir meets weekly and has performed in schools libraries and community events across Forsyth County including Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations and bilingual worship services. Through a culturally affirming and trauma-informed approach participants-children youth and adults-learn vocal expression Latin American music traditions and public speaking. The program fosters belonging healing and leadership development through the arts.

Latino Business Conection - Latino Business Conexions is a monthly bilingual program hosted at the Forsyth County Central Library that supports Latino entrepreneurs with culturally responsive education mentorship and community building. Sessions feature practical workshops on digital marketing financial planning leadership and business pitching as well as guest panels of successful Latino business owners. The program fosters economic empowerment networking and skill development. It also helps prepare participants for larger events such as the Latino Business Day Fair and pitch competitions promoting long-term community and business sustainability.

After School Arts and Culture programing Bilingual - After School Arts and Culture Programming - Bilingual includes seasonal and year-round events that provide creative educational and culturally affirming experiences for Latino families and children. These programs include Acuarelas Watercolor Art Sessions community-wide Egg Hunts Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations Navidad Latina events with music and crafts and the annual Cinco de Mayo Fair. Activities promote intergenerational engagement artistic expression and cultural pride. All programs are designed with bilingual access and focus on social-emotional learning trauma-informed practices and inclusivity for underserved Latino communities.
