AnalysisAchievement for this program:The Research & Analysis team strategically maps the media and public opinion landscape to ensure that the right voices are heard, at the right moment, and in the right mediums to shift public opinion and achieve policy wins. In 2024, the Analysis team completed several survey projects on various topics, including the war in Gaza and transnational repression. We conducted a major media analysis of news about China's nuclear weapons program and the US posture toward it, presenting the findings to the arms control community and China policy experts. The team completed several vital internal-facing analyses of programmatic initiatives and supported the strategic plan development process through survey design and strategic analysis.

Inclusive Democracy CollaborativeAchievement for this program:Our Inclusive Democracy Collaborative has worked alongside leading local, regional, and national partners to advance a more inclusive and representative democracy, one where every American has an equal voice and a meaningful stake in the decisions that shape their lives. In 2024, ReThink Media delivered strategic, hands-on communications support to help partners expose antidemocratic power grabs and elevate local campaign finance reform efforts. We helped secure widespread media coverage for democracy campaigns across the country, resulting in placements in major media outlets. We played a pivotal role in shaping messaging strategies ahead of the presidential election and provided rapid-response support that enabled partners to act swiftly and strategically when crisis moments arose. We also empowered the next generation of democracy leaders through a digital strategy training tailored for Gen Z organizers, and led a dynamic national panel featuring youth activists and public opinion experts on how to effectively engage and mobilize young voters, drawing participants from 11 states across the country.

Rights & Inclusion CollaborativeAchievement for this program:Our Rights & Inclusion team mobilizes Black, Arab, Muslim, Middle Eastern, Sikh, and South Asian American (BAMEMSSA) community leaders and allies across the nation to oppose hate crimes, discriminatory legislation, and anti-Muslim prejudice. In 2024, ReThink Media conducted six virtual and in-person capacity building trainings on communications strategies, messaging, and effective interviewing for partners in the civil society and grassroots sector. We also served as strategic communication partners to community organizations, leaders, and activists, to elevate their voices during pivotal moments including the 2024 election cycle. We increased the voice share of BAMEMSSA communities by placing opinion pieces and letters to the editor in local and national outlets, disseminating message guidance, pitching compelling stories to reporters, and training new spokespeople.
