Programs & Activities
Program 1
$10.8MThe pocantico center campus, housed on the grounds of the pocantico historic area, is managed by the rockefeller brothers fund as part of its agreement with the national trust for historic preservation, entered into in 1991, under which the fund is responsible for the renovation, maintenance, and operation of this historic site. The campus serves as a community resource for all ages, and offers public access through a slate of conferences, artist residencies, a visitation program, a museum, performances, permanent exhibitions, educational programs, and an annual family-focused community day. During 2024, 71 public programs were held. The pocantico center welcomed more guests than ever in 2024, including visits for public programs, the visitation program, conferences and meetings, artist residencies, and largely due to the new capacity provided by the david rockefeller creative arts center (see statement 22, statement 24 and statement 29).
Program 2
$2.8MThe david rockefeller creative arts center opened in fall of 2022 following a construction project centered around the reuse of the orangerie, built by john d. Rockefeller in 1908 on the historic rockefeller family estate and bequeathed to the national trust for historic preservation in 1979 by nelson rockefeller, which transformed the long-dormant building into this new space. Additional day-two construction work continued in 2024. The david rockefeller creative arts center is a sustainable and inclusive home for the creative process at the pocantico center, where artists and the community come together to develop, present, and experience new works of performing, literary, and visual arts. The center includes a gallery, performance space, and a flexible artists' studio. The pocantico prize for visual artists commenced in 2022 and pairs a cash prize with a two-month residency at the david rockefeller creative arts center. See statement 29.

The pocantico center also hosts artist residencies for performing, visual, and literary artists selected by the fund's grantee organizations based in new york city. These residencies support the creative process, advance cultural awareness, and foster artistic collaborations by creating time and space for aesthetic exploration and nurturing artistic imagination.
