One of the largest programs of rmhc of the philadelphia region is the annual "change the luck of a child" telethon. For the past nine years, the charity has partnered with cbs3, philadelphia's local cbs affiliate, to host the day long telethon to raise money for the charity and each of the four local ronald mcdonald houses. Leading up to the day of the telethon, mcdonald's restaurants of the greater philadelphia region sell paper shamrocks in-restaurant to raise money for the charity and houses as well.
