Program 1
$650After-school tutoring for k-12 at-risk youth in saginaw county, michigan one day per week. Average weekly attendance is about 35 students. Transportation to and from the activities was provided as needed. Attendance is on a volunteer basis, and many have attended for several years. Snacks for the children are also provided.
Program 2
$250Religious- based games and activities ae also provided. Prizes and other incentives are given for performance and achievement
Program 3
$500During the off-school months, youth participants are taken on field trips to local areas - swimming, children's zoo,, museums, etc. The group has the use of a van, but must pay for fuel. Adult chaperones volunteer their time.
Program 4
$100Preparation of a garden area has always been fun for the children in the summer off-school months. Many of the seeds and plants are donated, but the work of preparing the soil, planting the seeds, keeping out the weeds and harvesting is to be completed by the children. At harvest time, the children do the harvest, and then are taught how to prepare the food for consumption
