SAMUEL VARGAS INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FOUNDATION CORPORATION

The SV Scholars Program offers intensive study of the violin performance pedagogy and history. Four students were selected for full scholarship in 2024 to take part in this program through which they received weekly private lessons and weekly group classes rotating between studio performances courses in violin literature and courses in violin pedagogy. They also received performance opportunities through competition preparation and live engagements and leadership development all under the expertise of President Samuel Vargas. All personnel involved volunteered their time. Part of their participation in the program is contingent upon the completion of perrsonal outreach concerts in their own communities of Venezuela.

The Student Scholars program previously provided full scholarships to 40 students annually from underrepresented communities around the world to take weekly online lessons with teachers who have applied and been selected by the Artistic and Educational Committee. In addition to these one-on-one lessons with Mentors students collaborate with other teaching artists and guest speakers who give interactive workshops on a variety of subjects including health history theory pedagogy professional development and more. Several of these students have since been accepted into universities conservatories and music schools in their countries in part due to the guidance and opportunities offered after a complete year or more of instruction. The six-month commitment which can be renewed consecutively until the age of 26 or a dismissal is divided into two three-month sections with individualized plans and goals tailored to individual needs. All personnel involved volunteered their time.

2024 Gala Concert was put on by the Ambassadors Program -- Outreach Volunteer Days Assisted Living Home Concert School visists is one vehicle in which music can be shared within communities and it is usually both a performance and an educational opportunity for the participants and the audience. There were 2 main modalities for outreach in 2024. 1. Bi-annual volunteer day at the Schwob School of Music. Volunteers gathered to sort clean and prepare donations for shipments. Donations included musical accessories such as strings rosin music and sometimes even instruments. 2. Outreach concerts by the Ambassadors and SV Scholars program - visiting schools other educational facilities and assisted living homes. Performing as soloists at local venues and with local orchestras.
