The foundation brings people together to support each other through two key initiatives: leanin.org and optionb.org. Leanin.org empowers women to achieve their ambitions. It runs programs that counter gender stereotypes and advance opportunities for all women. Leanin.org supports women in three ways: 1)building community by collecting and exchanging ideas, information, and stories; 2)offering educational materials, lectures, and partnering with experts in the field of gender studies; 3)facilitating the development of lean in circles, small groups that meet monthly to encourage and support each other in an atmosphere of confidentiality and trust.

It runs programs that provide resources to people facing adversity such as grief and loss, health, illness and injury, abuse and sexual assault, and divorce and family challenges. Optionb.org supports men and women in three ways: 1) building community by collecting and exchanging ideas, information, and stories; 2) offering educational materials, lectures, and partnering with experts in the field of adversity studies; 3) facilitating the development of option b support groups: online groups that provide encouragement and support in an atmosphere of confidentiality and trust.

$2.5MThe foundation has implemented a scholarship program to empower a new generation of diverse leaders by providing exceptional kipp graduates with financial support and mentorship throughout college. Scholars are evaluated on 5 metrics - leadership, resilience, character, independent thinking and entrepreneurial spirit, and achievement.
