$174KSouth madison coalition of the elderly, inc. Took on the role of the lead agency of the coalition collaboration project. The result of the project was the merger of the four coalitions. As a result, the organization ceased operations on december 31, 2018 and transferred assets to newbridge madison, inc. Formerly known as east madison/monona coalition of the aging, inc.

$84KThe south madison coalition of the elderly oversees nutritious luncheons for senior adults at four locations on the southside of madison. In addition to a delicious full meal, socialization, entertainment, and educational programs are provided prior to the meal. Guests 60 years of age or older are asked to provide an anonymous donation. Guests under 60 years of age are asked to pay the full cost of the meal. In 2018 3 meal sites served 19,748 meals.
Program 3
$36KThe south madison coalition of the elderly's volunteer home chore program assists frail, limited-income older adults in need of help with simple chores around the house. Older adults receive assistance with light housework, such as cleaning floors, washing windows, doing laundry, taking out garbage, making minor home repairs, and helping with garden work. In 2018, 1,098 hours of assistance were provided to 80 clients by 61 volunteers.

$6KThe coalition offers weekday social, educational, and exercise programs at romnes and fisher-taft apartments. Card games, entertainment, day trips, monthly spelling bee, movies, crafts, bingo, intergenerational programs, book discussion groups, caregiver support groups, low-vision support groups, blood pressure clinics, exercise classes, language classes, computer assistance, informational presentations, and foot clinics keep our seniors active while generating lots of fun! The activities calendar as well as the dining menu can be found in our monthly newsletter, southside senior, and on our website.

$166KThe coalition's other programs include volunteer guardianship, cbrf nursing services, a dementia crisis worker, and representative payees, supported through the city of madison and dane county.
