TEACHFORTH

Volunteer teacher development program teachforth recruits, trains, and certifies high school volunteers to become computer science tutors. The program provides training in pedagogy, leadership, and curriculum delivery. Services provided: volunteer onboarding, teacher certification through the summertech certified teacher (stc) program, and continuing mentorship. Persons benefited: approximately 50 volunteers annually, who gain leadership experience, verified community service hours, and real teaching experience. Additional information: many participants use their teachforth experience and certification to strengthen college and scholarship applications.

Community partnership and curriculum support teachforth develops and maintains partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to deliver consistent, high-quality computer science education at no cost to students. Services provided: creation of structured learning systems, coordination of teacher-student pairings, and provision of curriculum and technology resources. Persons benefited: partner organizations serving hundreds of students benefit from free access to a turnkey coding education system. Additional information: partnerships focus on communities lacking computer science instruction and provide a sustainable, replicable educational model.
