Operating the texas civil war museum to display a collection of historical treasures from the period of the american civil war, the reconstruction period and other artifacts from the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century in a setting that is both educational and respectful of the delicate and irreplacable character of each item; maintain the museum facilities; care of the delicate artifacts; obtain additional artifacts for the museum collection; make materials available for historical research as well as special educational programs.
