THE CATE AND LAURENCE HOLT FOUNDATION

The cate and laurence holt foundation continued operating a non-profit gallery space during 2024 in brooklyn, new york, named springs projects. The foundation leases commercial space for springs projects in a building that houses other art organizations in brooklyn.the mission of the gallery is to build on the history of alternative/nonprofit artist-run spaces in new york city, with a special interest in providing exhibition opportunities for intergenerational and under-exhibited artists.the gallery mounted five group exhibitions in 2024 that included numerous emerging, mid-career and established artists. The gallery further organized four evenings of curated video screenings and an artist talk open to the public, and hosted several tours of exhibitions for students from nyc universities. The gallery also participated in art in dumbo first thursdays throughout 2024, a public arts program encouraging the public to visit neighborhood galleries.
