THE CINCINNATI REDS COMMUNITY FUND

The reds community fund youth baseball & softball funding initiative provides support to over 300 boys baseball and girls softball teams. Organizations receive funding to purchase uniforms, equipment and cover various operating expenses. Qualifying organizations must operate in "reds country," demonstrate financial need, and participate in a minimum of three community service or fundraising activities throughout the year. Specific programs that are supported include the p&g mlb cincinnati reds youth academy, greater cincinnati knothole, cincinnati public schools and reviving baseball in inner cities.

Reviving baseball in inner cities (rbi) is a major league baseball youth outreach program designed to: - increase participation and interest in baseball and softball among underserved youth - promote greater inclusion of youth with diverse backgrounds into the mainstream of the game - increase number of talented athletes prepared to play in college and professionally - encourage academic achievement, community service and model citizenship - teach the value of teamwork
