$1.1MThe frla disaster relief fund is an initiative that strives to provide economic relief to florida's hospitality industry and workforce following an emergency event. Through the organization, funds will be distributed as they become available to assist impacted restaurants and lodging establishments and support the hospitality workforce. Membership in the organization has no bearing on selection. Assistance is provided to help restaurants and lodging establishments impacted by an emergency event to recover, repair, and re-open.
Program 2
$95KThe annual prostart teacher training institute is a week long eventwhich all prostart instructors are invited to attend. The 2024 trainings were held at keiser university's campus and the ucf rosen college of hospitality management. The participants learned the most up-to-date, innovative ways to teach students who are interested in a career in foodservice. Teachers participated in "hands-on" labs in the kitchen/classroom under the tutelage of chef-instructors. Not only did teachers receive training in kitchen activites, the chef-instructors also conducted specific classes relevant to topics covered in the prostart curriculum. The annual prostart teacher training institute was designed to equip prostart teachers with the skills and knowledge they need to adequately teach the program to their students. There were approximately 84 teacher attendees.
Program 3
