Year 2024 activities included further 3-dimensional modelling of optimized magnetic field configurations, simulated implant designs, and their interactions with models of the human body were conducted. The cause of most scoliosis is unknown and termed "adolescent idiopathic scoliosis or ais. In general, scoliosis is a progressive condition, meaning that in some patients it has a tendency to worsen with age without clinically meaningful intervention. The for approach to treating ais is intended to reduce the extent and frequency of operative interventions, thus reducing the overall morbidity and risk to the patient. The overall goal of the scoliosis spine program is to develop a method to treat ais using magnet technology to correct spine curvature and prevent scoliotic curve progression.
