Sculpture park at waitakaruru arboretum: the park is a 17.5 ha rehabilitation of a former derelict quarry undertaken over a 34 year period. The arboretum contains a large collection of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants representing global botanical diversity. It's a registered permanent forest sink with more than 30,000 trees. The planting is integrated into a landscape of ponds, rocks, pathways and art works. The trust aims to heighten environmental awareness. The trust will maintain the formerly derelict quarry site at 207 scotsman valley road, tauwhare, hamilton, waikato as an arboretum and sculpture park (sculpture park) so as to: (i) preserve and enhance the natural environment for the benefit of the community; and (ii) promote the public's understanding and appreciation of environmental awareness, culture and the arts.

The one earth young filmmakers contest is a manaaki program designed to offer youth a platform to address the issues and solutions for climate change. The contest is open to students from grade 3 up through age 25. The program is offered to students worldwide.the one earth young filmmakers contest is part of the one earth film festival. All winning films are screened at a live award event in chicago each september and streamed live online. All winning films are also screened alongside professional films at the one earth film festival in april each year.
