Among those who seek this training are physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pain scientists, social workers, and legal scholars. The goal of the program is to share skills that enable the participants to communicate more effectively, to raise awareness, and to improve the treatment of acute and chronic pain.fellows learn communications skills to better inform the public about pain and how it may be effectively treated. They use evidence-based knowledge and practices to translate the science of pain so that those suffering might better understand and change their situations.targeted work includes communications training for frontline clinicians, disseminating critical research on the science of pain and on emerging evidence-based treatments, and addressing disparities in care.
