In 2023, the foundation continued its collaboration with fiqui peru, under the "sumando mananas" (adding tomorrows) project. During this fourth year, the project offered workshops for parents led by specialists covering very important aspects of cystic fibrosis (cf). In addition, the project continued to identify newly diagnosed cf patients and held interviews with their parents to help them understand what cf is, its implications in the life of their son/daughter, and the future handling and treatment required, to improve the quality and life expectancy of their child. These patients were offered access to the genetic study needed to identify their specific mutation(s), which is critical information to plan medication and treatment needed by each patient. The project added this year a nutritional program for critically malnourished patients and worked with their parents to understand the importance of nutrition in fq patients. (continued)

Program 2

(continued) in october and november of 2023, the project funded the attendance of 14 health professionals working with cf patients to international cf conferences (north american cystic fibrosis conference in november and the xvii congreso latinoamericano de fibrosis quistica in october), giving them the opportunity to learn the state of the art in cf treatment in benefit of their patients. The social study started in 2020 continued with in-person visits to other regions of the country (outside lima), allowing fiqui and the project to better understand the current situation of their member families to address the support needed from the project. Based on this information special social support was provided to some needy families. In addition, the project continues supporting the operation of fiqui's respiratory therapy gym, offering weekly therapy sessions to fiqui patients by specialized therapists. The project also offers psychological support for parents and patients(continued)
