THE NEW MEXICO FARMERS MARKETING

The nmfma manages the statewide approved supplier program. This food quality assurance program operates as the backbone to the state's farm-to- institution program called "new mexico grown." the approved supplier program allows agriculture producers of all scales to sell their locally grown food to new mexico's early childcare centers, the public schools, and senior centers through their repsective state agencies. It also allows these same producers to feed new mexicans via grocery stores and through food is medicine programs managed by the nmfma with health clinic partners across the state. An estimated 250 producers are part of the approved supplier program with sales of about 5 million per year. This values driven program seeks to ensure all producers have access to institutional markets, and that factors such as regenerative agriculture practices are formalized into local procurement strategies. This program serves the general public of new mexico.
