THE RANGE LAND MANAGEMENT SOCIETY

The organization normally provides funds to montana state university foundation which in turn provides funds to either the montana state university library to maintain the august hormay collection up to date and/or the department of agriculture as additional funding for which matching funds rquired to carry out the objectives of the on-going objectives of the department related to range management projects. In 2024 the oganization provided funds for projects within the deparment of agriculture. Specific use of those funds are governed by comptent oversight within the department of agriculture and the university of montana rules for distributing those funds. In light of the dissolution of the wildlands institute in 2023, in 2024 the treasurer, bruce maddox, met with the montana state university foundation and the deparment of agriculture management in continuing oversight for understanding the funds are for society stated objectives.
