$92KAdvocacy: the street trust advocates for walking, biking, rolling, micromobility, and public transit at the local, regional, state, and federal levels. We work with governments and transportation agencies to implement safe, accessible infrastructure and promote policies that support multimodal transportation.we partner with public agencies, nonprofits, health professionals, and businesses across oregon to build support for increased funding. We also collaborate with transportation departments and community leaders to advance safety strategies that aim to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries. (continued on sch o)at the state level, we champion laws that protect vulnerable road users, improve education for drivers and bicyclists, support walking and biking to school, and increase funding for transit and active transportation. Regionally, we work to integrate active transportation into planning processes and expand multimodal networks. Nationally, we advocate for federal investments in public and active transportation and safe routes to school programs.

$274KEncouragement: the street trust engages members and the community in our advocacy, education, and volunteer programs throughout the year. The street trust coordinates the regional community travel options programming, a community-based effort to encourage people to shift from driving alone to making trips by public and active transportation. The street trust teaches safe transportation workshops at workplaces throughout the portland metro area.the street trust leads the ride2own program, a community-based program that increases access to electric bicycles by providing participants with education, support, and the opportunity (continued on sch o)to earn ownership through active engagement. The program aims to advance transportation equity, sustainability, and mobility justice for historically underserved communities.the street trust leads columbia levee connector (clc), a community-led planning initiative to build a safe, accessible multi-use trail linking east portland neighborhoods to regional paths and natural areas. The project aims to improve mobility, equity, and public health by creating a vital active transportation corridor along the columbia river levee.at the annual alice awards and auction, the street trust recognizes individuals, businesses, agencies, and elected officials who have made a significant contribution to active transportation in their community. The event is also a fundraiser, providing approximately 3% of the street trust's gross revenue. The street trust provides a variety of volunteer opportunities and ways to get involved. Street trust volunteers help coordinate rides and events, assist our bike & pedestrian safety education instructors,, and more.the street trust communicates about our advocacy, encouragement, and volunteer programs through our website, e-newsletter, social media, and community outreach events.
