THE TRAIN FOUNDATION

The train foundation sponsors the civil courage prize for steadfast resistance to evil at great personal risk. The prize of $25,000 is awarded annually by the trustees of the train foundation at an event, after a worldwide call for nominations, and participation by the advisors in winnowing the candidates. There are related, twice annually distributed, newsletters and the work of a publicist. The services required to do this are paid for by the foundation. By increasing awareness of civil courage, the fund's trustees hope to encourage that virtue.
