$351KRefugee and immigrant wellbeing project: 15 adults and 41 children, and 21 unm student advocates finished the program in may 2024. In fall 2024 similar numbers of adults, children and students were recruited for the 2024-2025 cohort.
Program 2
$150KNewcomer mentoring staff provided over 1,200 hours of case management linking newcomers to over 924 services, including more than 267 hours devoted to housing needs and over 150 hours for legal and immigration referrals.
Program 3
$148KYouth empowerment: 36 youth graduated from cohort 1 of the youth empowerment program, each receiving a 500 stipend in may 2024 to go towards books, school clothes or other needs. 18 new youth were recruited for cohort 2 that started august 2024. Interpretation and translation: entered a formal contract to provide santa fe public schools with interpretation and translation services. Expanded our services with st. Joseph home visiting, and uvnr signed a contract with unmh to be the first and only in-person interpretation service providers for newcomers seeking services in the state's largest public hospital and level 1 trauma center.
