Direct services, provided through our 211 information and referral service and county service centers, answered more than 12,500 calls for help and coordinated the distribution of managed funds including the city of savannah's rental and security deposit assistance program. The team distributed more than $650,000 of assistance since the program's inception to 404 families, a 47% increase over the city's original goal for number of families served. Other notable assistance includes, but is not limited to, the publix fund with more than $20,000 in assistance to employed individuals experiencing hardship, approximately $47,000 to support unmet, specialized needs in the region, and $43,000 to break down transportation barriers through the women united transportation fund.
