Philadelphia Orchestra - Through the Philadelphia Orchestra, USCCI commissioned the Grammy-winning contemporary composer Mason Bates for a new work inspired by Spring Flower Rivers By Moonlight, an extraordinary poem of the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 A.D.). The remarkable craft, lyricism, and humanistic spirit associated with Tang-era poetry resonates across time and cultures, making it an ideal vehicle for cultivating human understanding between nations. The work was premiered during the Orchestras 2024 China Tour.
