$570KCommunity engagement, education and support: our website is a uniquely valuable source of information and support for our international community. As a well recognized authority on autoimmune disease, we are nimble, accurate, current, and comprehensive in our response to changing and pressing needs. We completed a redesign in 2024, in order to increase content and functionality. We continue to have very strong viewership. We sent out our monthly newsletter to thousands of subscribers, engaged in social media, participated in meetings and conferences, hosted dinners, and continued to offer our raising celiac podcast by boston children's hospital.
Program 2
$63KClinical and basic scientific research: gai provided support for multicenter clinical research studies in neuroimmunology at the children's national medical center, and a new neuroscience fellowship, already in large demand. Gai funded two new studies at johns hopkins medical, department of pathology, expected to result in publications in prominent scientific journals. In addition, gai funded a five year scientific lecture series at the la jolla institute for immunology, to bring together research scientists in autoimmune disease and related immunology in the san diego area 12-24 times/year. Gai also provided needed funding for the purchase of the state of the art mass spectrometer at the la jolla institute of immunology (lji). Gai distributed funds from its daf, created during the covid pandemic, to support a named assistant professorship, expert in mass spectrometry proteomics, to study cellular decision making, critical for prevention and understanding of autoimmune disease, at lji.
