Program 1
$7KEast oakland dreamers was founded in 2009 to help undocumented students realize their college dreams. Since then, our non-profit has expanded its vision of transformative struggle and critical hope. East oakland dreamers believes in the power of education to combat institutional, systemic, and structural oppression. We promote critical resistance through mentorship, in-school support, and community education. We work for equity by providing underserved youth with academic preparation, and college access and persistence support. In order to ensure all youth can access these services, we provide financial aid, legal help, and job placement services. We are committed to promoting social justice and creating intergenerational change for our families and communities.
Program 2
$506The poniecki foundation provides important support to a number of local government leadership development programs by providing training books at discount. The books are part of the core curriculum for programs that are offered in california. Participants in the programs are mid-career local government professionals who are considered to be up-and-coming leaders within their organizations. The purpose of the leadership development programs is to groom these individuals for executive-level leadership positions.
Program 3
The tatra project team is a small group of professionals who share an interest in the history and welfare of eastern european peoples coping with what years of soviet repression did to their lives. We have a simple structure: a director and an advisory group. Our common interest is in the work we do. Most recently our work has focused on preparing fifteen hours of interviews filmed in 2006 for the documentary red terror on the amber coast for free, public access on the internet. Because only about thirty minutes of the fifteen hours of historic and truly memorable interviews were used in the hour-long documentary, we decided that all these interviews merited a public place in the human record. And for that, with the professional help of the poniecki foundation, we have created this free, visual archive.
