Mission
The Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the "Code"), including for operating charitable programs to benefit members of the greater Philadelphia community and making distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Code. The Foundation's services are entirely free and available to all members of the general public, not simply those who are members of the organization or those who contribute funds.

The 1926 Foundation Inc. sponsors its Annual Sharing Day, during which it awards community grants to nonprofit organizations demonstrating a positive impact on local communities.
The 1926 Foundation partners with the City of Philadelphia Police and Recreation Departments to sponsor the event. The police are on hand to collect guns handed in by members of the community.
