Mission

The Gateway Center works to end homelessness, and particularly chronic homelessness, by providing the support and framework people need to achieve self-sufficiency.

Programs

13 programs

The Diversion & Prevention program seeks to prevent homelessness by helping identify immediate alternate housing arrangements and providing linkages to services/financial assistance that assists with returning to permanent housing. Prevention provides tenant-landlord mediation, housing navigation, and financial assistance for utilities, deposits, and rent to assist individuals in maintaining their stable housing.

The Homeless Veteran's Per Diem (VTHP) program, now referred to as Service Intensive Transitional Housing (SITH) Model, provides a maximum 2-year program stay to men housed on the 4th floor of Gateway Center. The program currently operates beds for homeless male veterans possibly impacted by chemical addictions and/or mental health issues. The program is a collaborative project funded by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
