The 45th street artists' cooperative's youth art program provides teachers, materials, and instruction in the arts to the emery unified school district. In the wake of proposition 13 and then the subsequent district budget cuts,the arts were on the chopping block and the 45th street artists' cooperative stepped in to fill the void. After three decades, the program continues to enjoy success.
