Mission

The committee is comprised of elders/youth vounteers estaglished to commemorate 50 years plus of educating and supporting communities related to social information on war, racism, and education, culminating in a mass celebration in August, incolving 10k+ participants in East L.A., to organize forums, car & art shows, mini concerts, educational seminars, plays, oral interviews, research, and documentary data to develop historical histories of the Chicano movement fro the 1960's to date. The long term goals are to produce an educational video of the actions/activities related to 50 years of social advocacy, establishing a traditional day of action each August and sharing the information with schools & universities, and supporting an effort for a future wall of recognition to past leaders, activist, and pathfinders of the movement in Los Angeles, California.
