Mission
5A's primary exempt purpose is serving youth in and out of school to become trauma informed and holistically well. The PeaceBuilder Institute is our flagship program where we facilitated two components, which were Social Change Internships and Social Impact Lab. In the Social Change Internship, we had 20 high school interns in person and 15 interns virtually, meeting three times a week from March through June. We focused on wellness and mental health, digital media and marketing engagement through the lens of social justice and community impact. For Social Impact Labs, we met with 10 to 15 boys weekly from March to June where we provided art and music therapy, mentoring, health, wellness, and nutrition, writing workshops and audio visual production. In June going into the next fiscal year, we provided Summer Camp through the city of Pittsburgh's Learn and Earn servicing 35 virtual and 50 in-person each week day for 5 hours a day.
