Mission

Accelerate - the national collaborative for accelerated learning (accelerate) brings evidence-based practices to scale in public education by bridging gaps between research, policy and school systems. Accelerate's vision is that every child in this country will receive an exceptional education that helps them explore and unlock their potential.

Programs

3 programs

Accelerate's call to effective action (cea) grant program supports evidence-based models of tutoring and individualized instruction that demonstrate the potential to deliver services on a sizable scale to improve outcomes for students, particularly students in historically underserved communities. Grantees include school districts, state education agencies, tutoring providers, nonprofit organizations, and other actors.

Expenses: $4.1MGrants: $3.7M

Accelerate supports the design and implementation of rigorous research and evaluation of educational interventions to better understand what works, for whom, and in what school settings. Accelerate funds and partners with leading research institutions to leverage the existing evidence base in programs around the country while further building the research on what is effective in tutoring to solve barriers to scale and advance student learning.

Expenses: $5.5MGrants: $3.6M

As a leader in the tutoring space, accelerate invests time and resources to share lessons learned, engage with others in the field, and encourage ongoing dialogue about advancing student learning. Activities include hosting in-person and virtual convenings (or communities of practice) with past and current grantees and other practitioners, advocates, and thought leaders in the field.
