Mission

ACT - A Common Thread ACT is a nonprofit organization established in 2020. ACT's mission is to provide free self-serve farmer markets to remote locations, senior living facilities, mobile home courts and other facilities across Pierce, Thurston, Lewis and King Counties of Washington State. ACT procures its food primarily through donations and receives funding from government grants and contracts administered by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. ACT's operating model relies on use of volunteer labor and generally allows for donated food to be picked up from donors and distributed to those in need within these communities within the same day.
