Remote Community Development (Humla) -Adara's Remote Community Development work makes a significant contribution to ending the preventable deaths of women, children and disadvantaged people in isolated communities through quality healthcare and improved access to quality education for disadvantaged children and youth.
Kiwoko Hospital - At the heart of AdaraNewborn is a holistic model of care to women, newborns and children that Adara pioneered with their partner, Kiwoko Hospital, since 1998. This work has been recognised by Uganda's Ministry of Health as a Centre of Excellence in the country. Adara are leveraging this experience to expand their model across Uganda. To facilitate this process, they are committed to maintaining Kiwoko as a Centre of Excellence by supporting the hospital's programmes across the continuum of care.
Innovation,Learning & Evaluation - We conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation with community participation so we can ensure the work that we do is evidenced-based, effective and in the best interests of the communities we support.
Himalayan Children's Society runs the Yalbang School. It's a model government facility in Humla with two on-site hostels. Adara supports the running costs of one of the hostels, provides scholarships to students in the form of uniforms and textbooks, and funds the salaries of six teachers.
Remote Community Development - Programme Support. Adara Development (Nepal) - project office: Project planning, implementation, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation of all Nepal partner organisations and projects. Assisting partner organisations with registration and compliance requirements and ensuring that all partners are exercising good governance.
The Himalayan Innovative Society works to reduce the incidence of child trafficking from the district through anti-trafficking radio programmes. Adara support THIS to reduce trafficking in Humla district through anti-trafficking projects including watchdog committees, conferences and radio programmes.
Adara Development Nepal- Tibetan Medical Practitioner - Adara funds and supports a Tibetan medicine practitioner who travels from village to village for eight months of the year, treating people and providing free healthcare to over 1,000 patients
Knowledge Sharing - We believe the knowledge created through our programmes is not ours to keep. We strive to scale the impact of our programmes by sharing data, research conclusions, training packages and lessons learned. We want to ensure that those who need this knowledge most can access and use it, in a format that best suits them.
