Adelante Community Development

Health equity: during the covid-19 pandemic, adelante advanced health equity by supporting latino-owned small businesses and workers who were disproportionately affected by the crisis. Many faced income loss, language barriers, and limited access to reliable health information. Adelante mobilized bilingual outreach teams to share accurate public health guidance, connect families and business owners to testing, vaccination, and financial relief resources, and distribute protective supplies. Partnering with local health departments and municipalities, adelante helped businesses safely reopen and navigate changing regulations. This work strengthened trust, improved access to critical resources, and built lasting capacity for health and economic resilience in latino communities.
