In 2024, adpf deepened awareness of parkinsons disease in africa through its lagos-based holistic rehabilitation center, launched in partnership with local and international organizations. What began in 2023 with 2 patients has grown to serve over 110 individuals living with parkinsonsat no cost to patients or families. The center provides physical therapy, dance, rocksteady boxing, walking football, handwriting and speech therapy, occupational therapy, recreational activities, caregiver training, monthly support groups, and essential medications for low-income patients. Beyond clinical support, adpf advanced public education on parkinsons through media outreach and the release of its widely viewed 2024 documentary, beyond the tremors. Staying true to its motto, i will hold your hand, so you wont fall, the foundation continues to champion the belief that exercise is medicine and build supportive communities of care.
