Mission
The Adventure Project creates jobs that empower communities in Africa to work their way out of extreme poverty for good
Programs
2 programs
Climate - approximately 2.3 billion people still cook using open fires or inefficient stoves, with devastating effects on people and the planet. Smoke inhalation from traditional cooking kills 4 million people each year and disproportionately affects women and children living in poverty. This year, we trained 117 clean cookstove artisans and eco-friendly briquette makers in Kenya, while also onboarding 234 women shopkeepers as stove sales agents.
Water - over half of the world's 703 million people who lack basic drinking water live in sub-saharan Africa. As a result more than 250,000 children in sub-saharan Africa die each year because of inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene. This year, we hired 4 water well operators and helped keep clean water flowing to more than 6,000 people in rural Ghana.
