Mission
AES Literacy Institute empowers under-educated and underserved individuals by providing the education career training and financial literacy needed to achieve long-term self-sufficiency. We create clear pathways to opportunity through GED preparation college and career guidance and workforce readiness services that help participants earn their high school equivalency pursue post-secondary education and secure living-wage employment.

College & Career Choices is a comprehensive initiative designed to empower individuals ages 17 to 40 by providing clear pathways to post-secondary education career training employment and military enlistment. With a focus on serving underrepresented minority and low-income communities the program equips participants with the knowledge guidance and support needed to pursue meaningful educational and career opportunities. Operating year-round College & Career Choices offers individualized assistance with college admissions financial aid applications training program enrollment academic advising and career exploration. Participants receive hands-on support completing college and certification applications preparing required documents selecting appropriate programs and navigating financial aid and scholarship processes. The program also provides mentorship skills development job readiness training resume support and connections to high-demand career pathways. In 2024 College & Career Choices supported 101 participants in successfully transitioning into post-secondary education industry certification programs the workforce or military service. This outcome reflects the effectiveness of the programs targeted approach and demonstrates the strong impact of personalized coaching combined with accessible support services. Through a combination of career exploration professional development workshops job placement assistance and continued alumni support College & Career Choices helps participants build long-term stability and pursue sustainable career pathways. By addressing educational barriers and offering structured culturally responsive guidance the program plays a significant role in helping individuals break cycles of poverty and move toward lasting economic mobility.
The Test Center provided private proctored exams for the GED and a range of industry certifications offering a secure and accessible testing environment for individuals throughout Dallas County. Our certified proctors ensured a professional and supportive atmosphere assisting both individual test-takers and groups needing exam facilitation. The center offered reliable internet access quiet testing areas and modern computer equipment to support a smooth testing experience. As an official Pearson VUE Test Center we administered more than 800 exams during the year. Through these services the Test Center supported educational advancement and career readiness for community members seeking accredited testing opportunities.
