Mission
The mission of the AFA is to promote the publc understanding of air and space power and the pivitol role it plays in the security of the nation through education, advocacy and direct support.

Scholarships are provided to deserving officer, enlisted and civilian members of the SMC community, as well as three local Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps ROTC, and various local area high school, middle school, community college and university awards for excellence in STEM education. None exceed 2,000 per individual reciepient. Selection of receipients is governed by a selection committe composed of five members of the Board of Directors as selected by the Scholarship Chair. No awards have been made to any member of this committe or their relatives. If a future nominee is related to a member of the Selection Committe, that member must recuse himself or herself.
