The mission of afghan health initiative is to serve the immigrant and refugee population in washington state by promoting community-based public health interventions which target social determinants of health thereby increasing equal access to health, education, and economic independence.

Ahi provides navigation, advocacy, and support for immigrant and refugee families through:- intensive case management and resource navigation for hundreds of families each year.- employment training and placement programs designed to build long-term workforce skills, not just immediate job placement.- youth programs, including empowerment workshops and technology literacy training, reaching refugee and immigrant students.- civic engagement, including democracy literacy and voter registration assistance.

Ahi addresses urgent needs while supporting long-term independence:- provided thousands of diapers, wipes, and children's items to families in need.- supported families with essentials such as car seats, strollers, clothing, and hygiene items through partnerships like kidvantage.- hosted community workshops and trainings to build economic self-sufficiency, digital literacy, and employment readiness.
