Mission
Agave Dogs rescues adoptable, homeless dogs from area overwhelmed by pet overpopulation and finds them loving, permanent homes near Portland, OR. Our dogs come from high kill shelters and off the streets of California, Texas, Alabama, New Mexico and Mexico. We focus on accepting the most needy cases where a dog is facing euthanasia or life as a stray. We target our efforts in communities where dogs are in crisis and where there is little hope of a safe, loving home and adoption rates are low. We partner with shelters and rescue groups in these areas to coordinate bringing dogs hundreds and often thousands of miles in order to offer them a better life through our adoption program. Agave Dogs Rescue accepts all breeds and ages of dogs and looks to help the underdogs. We take major medical cases and work with certified trainers on our behavior cases. Our slogan is "Giving a ruff life reason to wag again."
