Support services - apc provides 500 residents, including 270 youth with the stability of long term and permanent housing combined with life skills and job skills training, counseling, advocacy to connect with services, and emotional support, all with the ultimate goal of getting the support needed to be able to lead an independeent, stable, and productive life. Several studies have shown that supportive housing is one of the most effective models for ending the vicious cycle of homelessness.
Property management - property management is responsible for leasing up and managing all of the residential and commercial properties belonging to and managed by apc. This includes 128 permanent supportive housing units designated for homeless families and individuals and conveyed to apc through a legally binding agreement; 56 permanent supportive housing units designated for survivors of domestic violence conveyed to building futures through a legally binding agreement, and several commercial leases with the alameda food bank, american red cross, and makers farm.
Children and youth services - like the adults in their families, apc resident children and youth are rebuilding their lives after a period of homelessness and trauma. Apc provides focused activities that support physical and emotional safety, encourage positive life skills, promote creativity and learning and nuture selfesteem of resident children and youth.
