Us department of labor: passed through the texas workforce commission: workforce investment act (wia) & workforce innovation and opportunity grant (wioa) - to provide individuals with occupational and employment skills to obtain jobs and provide employers with skilled workers. This program provides employment and training services to economically disadvantaged youth, adults, and individuals experiencing employment layoffs due to various factors.
Us department of health and human services: passed through the texas workforce commission: temporary assistance to needy families (tanf)- provides temporary assistance for needy families with services to end the dependence on public assistance by promoting job preparation, work and marriage.
U.s department of labor: wagner-peyser employment services-to improve the functioning of the labor market exchange by bringing together individuals who are seeking employment and employers who are seeking workings us department of labor: veterans services-in collaboration with the texas veterans commission-to provide space and technical and administrative support to texas veterans commission staff located at workforce solutions alamo career center us department of labor: trade adjustment act services (taa)-to assist trade certified dislocated workers in locating new jobs us department of agriculture: supplemental nutritional assistance program employment and training (snap e&t)-to assist food stamp recipients in obtaining employment through participation in job serach, training, education or workfare activities that promote self-sufficiency. Other regional programs provided by non-federal grants and other monies to promote employment in thirteen counties.
