Environmental Training Program: The Alaska Forum facilitates environmental worker training for primarily rural Alaskan participants who are under-employed and located in parts of Alaska that are underserved. Through several federal and state grants the Alaska Forum facilitates virtual and in-person environmental and emergency response training needed in rural Alaska. The Alaska Landfill Operator Training program written and provided by the Alaska Forum focuses on training Alaskan Landfill Operators to manage a Class III landfill appropriately.

Green Star Communities Program: The Alaska Forum sponsors the Green Star Communities certification program tailored for rural Alaskan communities to evaluate and enhance their waste reduction and energy efficiency initiatives. This program aids Alaska communities in implementing waste reduction energy conservation and pollution prevention practices. Communities meeting the Green Star Community Standards receive recognition for their efforts. By adopting an integrated community-focused approach to waste and resource management sustainable solutions are achieved. The Green Star Award acknowledges these accomplishments publicly. In collaboration with the Knik Tribe the Pollution Prevention Safer Choice initiative promotes the use of EPA Safer Choice products in rural Alaskan communities and Green Star Communities to minimize household and business hazardous waste.
