Programs

2 programs

Aps in school girls program is an alchemy mentoring group which meets during the school day throughout each academic year, for 22-25 weeks, in akron public school (aps) school buildings. Through the telling, discussion, and interpretation of assigned ancient mythological tales told to the beat of a djembe drum and with students seated in a safe circle to cultivate a sense of community. Trained facilitators teach participants to navigate life's challenges through exploration into ethics, humankind, critical decision making, and much more. Writing skills are also developed through required journaling during each session. The highly experienced guidance from classroom facilitators helps them envision and develop clear goals, for both their academic and life journeys.

National pilot demonstration programming - development, exploration, and planning work associated with implementing alchemy's in-class group mentoring program at partner middle school and high school buildings in baltimore, dallas, and/or other cities.
