Alexander County Partnership For Children

Nc pre-kindergarten program is a high quality pre-k program that served 4 year old children and prepares them for success in school. 68 children served in 5 classrooms. All children served by a 4 or 5 star classroom.

Family support services included circle of parents, circle of security, and raising a reader. 10 parents attended circle of parents support group with 16 children attending circle of parents. 4 parents completed 8 week session of circle of security classes. Books and other supplies purchased for the raising a reader program. 6 facilities with 14 classrooms participated in the program. 183 children took home weekly literacy backpacks. Community awareness and education raises the community's awareness and support of smart start and the partnership's current activities. 185 parents attended outreach events with 353 children. 42 agencies collaborated with acpc.

Health and safety included child safety programs. 79 car seats were inspected and 50 car seats provided under the child safety program.

Hurricane relief program provided grants/awards to 5 child care centers. The funds were used for supplies, repairs, and clean-up after the hurricane helene.
