Transitional residence for women and children in the process of moving to permanent housing.

Programs

To provide comprehensive childcare and youth development services for families residing at alexandria house and for children in the surrounding community. Services include early childhood care, after-school programs, day camp during school breaks, tutoring, enrichment activities, and a teen center that offers mentoring, leadership development, and safe recreational space. The program also functions as a neighborhood hub, fostering community engagement and providing resources to meet urgent needs such as food, clothing, and educational support. On average, alexandria house serves 244 food pantry participants each week.

This program empowers women in the alexandria house community to achieve economic independence through entrepreneurship and career development. Susla provides participants with high-quality training, individualized business counseling, and access to resources such as micro-grants, networking opportunities, and mentorship. The program focuses on building practical skills in business planning, financial literacy, and marketing, enabling women to launch or grow small businesses and pursue sustainable careers. By fostering economic self-sufficiency, susla helps break cycles of poverty and strengthens community resilience.
