National survivor law collective: at the height of the global pandemic in 2020, alight founded the national survivor law collective (nsl collective) along with other u.s. Organizations focused on providing free legal services to victims and survivors of all forms of human trafficking, regardless of gender identity, nationality or age.the nsl collective works to provide a strong collective response to this populations legal and other needs across the u.s. The nsl collective operates the only national listserv of human trafficking-focused legal services providers.in this fiscal year, alight and other co-founders presented the findings of the legal deserts 2.0 report at the 2024 pro bono institute conference, including recommendations for addressing the lack of legal services available to survivors.

Trainings:alights training program addresses the reality that working with an attorney can be traumatic for a survivor and/or foster compassion fatigue for attorneys by providing resources to support trauma informed representation and culturally-competent legal services. In doing so, the program improves human trafficking survivors access to justice.in this fiscal year, alight provided or facilitated the provision of trainings to support over 380 attorneys, service providers, anti-trafficking experts, law students and the community.the venues included the pro bono institute, on-site law firm presentations, the larimer county multi-disciplinary task force meeting and the colorado social legislation committee meeting.
