Marketing and community engagement:fy24 was a big year for the station as all classical radio celebrated its 40th anniversary in august 2023. As part of the celebration, a rebranding from all classical portland to all classical radio was announced, reflecting the stations flourishing global reach. A new logo and accompanying visual universe debuted, inspired by the 20th century orphic cubism art movement, which sees art as the unification of sensation and color. It is an exciting alignment with the stations expansive geographic reach and impact, and our commitment to serving all listeners. In collaboration with the oregon historical society, all classical radio honored our 40th anniversary with a special 4-month exhibit at ohs called all classical radio: orchestrating magic for 40 years. The retrospective exhibit honored the stations history and highlighted the impact that all classical radio has had on oregon and beyond. The station engages over 10,000 people weekly via social media and over 35,000 people in a bi-weekly e-newsletter. The website provides an up-to-the-minute resource about programming, and highlights educational information. There is also a free online cultural events calendar with a wide array of listings, and highlights of key cultural events sponsored and supported by the station. The website offers archived programs on-demand.all classical radio engages and uplifts youth in the community through youth roving reporters (yrr), an arts journalism training and mentorship program. Through the yrr educational program, all classical radio and ican on-air hosts mentor students, providing them with guidance and insight on what it is to be a broadcaster and how to tell the stories of their communities effectively, authentically, and creatively. Other station initiatives include:artist in residence (air) program started in 2019. Air is designed to foster creative and professional growth for young, emerging, and established performing artists. Residents have access to all classical radios world-class facilities and studios. They are offered on-air and regional performance opportunities, including appearances on radio programs, at station events and concerts, and on special broadcasts. Residents are encouraged to pursue artistic research projects and to publish related articles about their work and findings through all classical radios wide-reaching platforms. Residents receive a scholarship award to assist in their creative projects, performances, and/or continued studies. The residency encourages artists to pursue new projects and ideas, take creative risks, and equitably supports local performers and composers. In 2021, all classical radio added three residencies for composers, and in 2022, the program was expanded to include a new role for young artist ambassadors. Pianist mara garca concluded her residency at the end of 2023. The fy2024 young artist in residence was a 15-year-old trombonist, singer, and composer, elaina stuppler. All classical continued its young artist ambassador program with four youths named as ambassadors for all classical radio and ican radio. Artist anthology is a groundbreaking collection of 40+ of the pacific northwests trailblazing contemporary artiststhe culture bearers of this regions thriving arts community. Supported in part by a grant from the nea, all classical aims to document this time of artistic output by amplifying regional contemporary artists, with profiles penned by notable northwest writers and portraits by prominent local photographers. Each featured artist represents a unique medium and perspective, and the entire collection will culminate in a limited-edition book to be released in 2025.the station maintains an active volunteer and intern program. These programs bolster the organizations engagement with the community and provide training in public broadcasting. Nearly 80 volunteers represent the station.
